Run without crawling

My mother told me a story, of how I didn't start crawling until 10 months (late), but after doing that for a week, decided I didn't like it and walked instead (early).

That's a metaphor for my whole life, actually. I commence 'life events' later than others, but skip ahead all of the learning/initial stages and go straight to the hard stuff. I observe for as long as possible before finally committing to do it and once I'm committed, there is no way I'm going to fail.

[The best example I have of this is moving out of home... yes, it was later than average, but it was to the other side of the planet with little help whatsoever. :)]
